I'm going on a 7th date with a guy I've just met.

I've been to pubs, bars, theatre, cinema and restaurants with him, but want to go somethere quirky - somewhere unusal - for example -the restaurant in the pitch black.

Can you think of anywhere quirky or fun, or unusal I can go where we can have a few drinks and grab a bite to eat?

  1. What about Garlic & Shots in Soho.  As it says on the box, Vodka and garlic are top contenders on the menu - prob not the best idea for a romantic (kissy) date but we had a laugh and the staff are great.  Unusual menu, garlic flavoured beer!  Nice small and cosy atmosphere, despite its proximity to Ronny Scotts.

Also, Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill is a great date location...

  2. If you (or he !!!) have got a bit of cash then try drinks at the Ice Bar & dinner at Below Zero (don't know if the restaurant is any good but the bar sounds cool (!!) though ..... ) http://www.belowzerolondon.com/info.html

then go on to visit Lucky Voice for drinks & Karaoke http://www.luckyvoice.co.uk/

    Have fun !!

  3. Try The Souk. It's a great Morroccan place. Very good food and a very unique atmosphere. Eat in the downstairs part for the best atmosphere--small cave-like rooms, some only big enough for a couple or 3 people. It's dimly lit and the tables are low with big cushions that you sit on. Very nice for something different. Here's a review. http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/review_1011....

  4. Archepelego - Near Warren Street (W1). You can eat bugs.

Just besides Waterloo Station under a big echoeing bridge, pop over the road to the Battle Of Waterloo pub for a few lagers later, they have rooms upstairs too for if you get lucky!

  8. Giglamesh in Camden is very unusual if not a bit pricey.

The Oxo Tower  is also a great venue.

Best for a fun date though is probably All Star Lanes in Bloomsbury. Bowling and a bite to eat!

  9. for quirky restaurants wont get any better than - The Wapping Project -  an ex power station you sit in the middle of all the generators and sometimes they have performance art - its about 5 minutes walk from wapping tube

  10. Yauatcha on Broadwick Street is a favourite fo mine, as is its sister restaurant Hakkasan in Hanway Place.

  11. Try the Calabash Restaurant at the Africa Centre.  There could be other things going on there which you could join in!http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/restaurants...

I see that they were to close for refurbishment in July.  Just in case they're not yet open again, try one of several Ethiopian restaurants, such as http://www.londontown.com/LondonInformat...
