あなたがいなくて寂しいです。 is that bluntly, "I miss you" or is there more to it? Would that be ok to say to someone who you were friends with but then they moved away?

  1. It depends on situation.

    Anata ga inakute sabishii desu is not wrong for translation of I miss you.  However I think anata ni aitai(あなたに逢いたい)  would be much better to express the content.

    anata ga inakute sabisii desu would be I feel so lonely because you are not here and I miss you is somehow different from that, I think.
