  1. You can completely knacker an autobox like that. I would recommend NOT doing that.

  2. It's the best way to strip the splines on the output from the torque converter and burn out the intermediate clutch.

That just considering the basic items involved in first gear, but there are other major parts involved that could sustain damage.

Another thing NOT to do is select park while you're still moving.

    ( Edit )

Stall speed test was a 3 second test and no longer.

Your better off flooring from a standing start, that way you get maximum torque multiplication from the torque converter.

To use an auto box in a dragster it was usual to fit a clutch in place of the torque converter.

  3. Yes!

  4. unbelievable

  5. Yes to both your tires and gearbox

  6. I hope that your just waking up or may i should be hoping that your in a dream, because if you really did that you tranny sure would'nt last for very long  , who know's the tranny ,driveshaft, your rear end, you name it , All might be left laying on the street.

  7. Yes It Can Grind The Gears Plus It Is Hurting Your Tranny As Well

  8. Yes, the main part of your auto bo that will become damaged is the torque converter.

    Ja.

  9. It puts a tremendous strain on the transmission as well as the rest of the drivetrain components.

I've seen more than one transmission literally blow itself apart as a result of doing neutral-drops.

  10. h**l yes, don't do it!

If you absolutely have to get a fast start (at the dragstrip), hold the brakes to the floor, and rev the engine in drive until it won't rev any higher (this is called the stall point), then when you want to go, ease off the brake pedal as quick as you can without allowing excessive wheelspin (you want just a little bit to prevent the engine from bogging) and go.

Don't hold it at stall for longer than a couple of seconds, because this makes the box get hot quick! If done correctly, it won't damage the gearbox though.

  11. You cannot do anything much worse than that to the trans
