Question:

01 Saturn SC2 question?

I know there are probably 101 million things that could be possible explanations of what could be wrong with a vehicle (my ex-husband was a mechanic by trade and he told me that some vehicles have problems specific to the make and model), but does anyone know of any problems that are common to the 2001 Saturn SC2 5-speed?

I posted a question yesterday about how my Service Engine Soon light came on and had been checked out by 2 mechanics and the dealer (all of whom put it on the scope...the dealer suggested I change my gas cap, but none could tell me what was wrong) and someone told me to take it to Auto Zone for a free diagnosis.

Well, I ran a few errands yesterday and my car drove ok, but when I parked it, the keyring alarm wouldn't set the alarm and I had to manually lock the doors and trunk. Today, I went out to start my car and not only wouldn't the keyring remote open the doors or trunk, but whatever it was that is wrong with my car has killed my battery (which is fairly new).

Does anyone have any suggestions or possible causes?

Help, please!

  1. Sometimes the Emission System is hooked into the "Engine Management System, Service Light". Get a "Full Diagnostic Readout" then have the Alarm System Fully Checked, System may be why the Battery is Dead.

  2. I dont have a possible cause but I do have a suggestion. Find a reputable alarm shop where you live and go pay to have it checked out.
