01 f150 wont go into 4wheel drive???

Question

i tried putting my truck into 4low and 4 hi when i got stuck in a field ,the light come on and everything but my front tires were not turning then when i got out i tried again but still doesnt work have any suggestions?

you could have a bad transfer case that aloows you to go in to 4 wheel drive

you might have posi-traction? not sure with the fords!

anyways. if it is genuinely BROKE then it would in fact be your transfer case. However you may not need to replace the whole thing, it might just be the electronic lever that controls it.

It's a ford. what do you expect... ;-)
