  1. yep and they are pretty easy to replace your self really brakes is not so hard a few tools and know how it can be done any where.....my wife does her own...... and really you never ever go to a dealer for work or parts if you can get them any where else... heres help and if you look bet you can find a video of how its done also... dont worry about if its not your kind of car most cars the brakes are about the same... they work the same.. pads look the same ther only thing is some have pins some have bolts some have a allen head bolt holding them... easy right.... then some have a s***w in type piston which if it does you just rent a tool.... other than that is easy take about 1 hour or 2 to replace it all

  2. I see no problem buying after market parts. You do have differentt levels of after market parts. You maybe able to buy a one year rotor and it has a slightly thinner hub or not as miny cooling fins. But if you buy the better rotor your cost maybe alittlee closer to the dealer. Which should be top of the line. So it all depends did you get 80-100,000 miles out of your original brakes. Then you might want to think about the original parts replacement.

    Good luck.

  3. Wish you lived in,Orlando, where I know you can find a reputable moble mechanic,as myself.Atlanta,Ga.,has many too,as N.Y.But,to your question,do,Pepboys, but by no means are they a joke either.Just a lighter Devil than a dealership, where,if you`ll notice they're practically giving cars."O",why',you ask!?Because the small print disallows you many understandings about maintenance cost along your merry way.OR....void your warranty. You pay through the nose and it's painless because of the small increments.

  4. i replaced mine myself. i got my rotors at auto zone and the brakes work fine now. mine was doing like yours, shaking when i hit the brakes.

  5. Yeah its fine to get them from stores like auto zone or pep boys i recommend car quest or napa. but they are made to the exact specs as the rotors from the dealership. i have a 1997 avenger and sears wanted 112 each for me rear rotors i went to napa and got them for $17 a piece and my car stops just fine. You can get the rotors at auto zone for $40 a piece

  6. some good answers. i wouldnt buy my rotors from the dealer nor would i from auto zone or some cheapie place. if i were you id go to a shop and tell them you want a mid grade rotor. you should be able to get two rotors installed parts and labor without pads for @ 280. you could also find some shade tree shop that has only one shop in their chain and the owner is the only technician and get it done parts and labor for 200 dollars maybe 175 or maybe 125, some shops that profit 100 dollars a day are satisfied with that. i like the warranty but to each is own
