Question:

03 Nissan Sentra AC problems

My 03 Sentra 2.5L has not had working AC for a few years now. We finally decided to try to fix.

We have replaced the compressor, the AC relay, the head unit, and recharged the system with no luck. The clutch does not engage. The blower works fine, the heat works fine, but the AC just wont work. Were thinking its an electrical prob, checked all the fuses, and have tested the wiring from the compressor to the AC relay, to the ECM with no problems. Today I am going to try testing beyond that point.

Has anyone had this prob? Any suggestions? I am getting frustrated, need help! I cant afford to take it to a shop.

  1. As long as you are 100 percent sure that the system is fully charged up and the reason that I ask this is that the only way that you could have recharged it was to hot wire the a/c compressor clutch.

So if it is completely recharged then you need to start by checking that you have both power and ground going to the a/c compressor clutch.

You will also need to scan the vehicles computer to see if you have the a/c command request coming from the ECM.

You will also have a ambient temperature sensor that is located in the evaporator core, a refrigerate pressure switch which is located under the hood, an a/c compressor clutch relay located under the hood in the relay box and a thermal limiter fuse that is located on top of the compressor.
