04 Mustang v6 vs 01 Stratus R/T?

Question

North Dakota driver looking for a new car. I've found a 2004 Ford Mustang coupe v6 with the 3.8L 5 speed with 56k miles for $8,000 and also a 2001 Dodge Stratus 2door R/T v6 2.7l 5 speed with 65k miles for $7,500 and can't decide! I'm thinking insurance will be higher on the Mustang, but they should be fairly similar as both are sports cars with roughly the same size engine. The Mustang does have 10k less miles and is 3 years newer, however the Stratus should get slightly better gas milage. Any tips or experiences to share with me? Anything would be appreciated! Thanks!

mustang is rwd and is gonna suck in the winter if you plan on usin then i donno about the stratus (real wheel drive) o and the 2 door stratus is a nice car (not for old ppl) and there is nothing wrong with dodge so theres a lotta bias in these answers

Do they still make the stratus?  If you go with the mustang you know parts will be easier to find, if you ever need them, as this is probably the more sought after, popular car.  The insurance will probably be about the same.  If you're worried about gas, than go with the Dodge.  Otherwise I would say the Mustang.  Check Edmunds.com to make sure the prices are about right or kbb.com, you can also find reviews on kbb.com.

get the mustang...stratuses are for old people..and plus mustangs are hotter

I would recommend the Mustang.  The Stratus may get a few more miles per gallon (maybe not though, Dodge cars and trucks have never been known to get good mileage AT ALL), but the 3.8L v6s are pretty decent (the one in my Camaro gets 30 on the highway).  Plus, 3 years is a lot of time when it comes to cars, the Stratus has much more wear and tear just from everyday driving than the Mustang.  The Mustang will last you longer, so I think it's the better choice.  Especially for only $500 more.

Dodge stratus is pure c**p.  Go with the mustang v6.  If you are young then put the car in your mom's/dad's name and use their insurance.
