Question:

04 Trailblazer passenger brake light out?

I'm not sure what's happening here. There are 3 bulbs. First is regular tail-light. Second is blinker/brake light. Third is reverse. The brake light (bulb) does not light up, but works when the blinker is on. Any ideas?

  1. see which bulb is the brake light on the driver side and replace that bulb on the passenger side.  it is a dual filament bulb meaning one is for one thing and one is for the other

one of the filaments is burned out

  2. I'd change the bulb, or just change all of them and be done with it.

  3. It's a dual filament bulb. Just change it. Make sure you get the exact same bulb number.

  4. Ok if you know for sure that it's not the bulb , then you need to check the brake light switch to see if it's working, You will find this switch down on the back side of your brake pedal, check your brake light fuse to make sure it's not blown, now get a test light and check the brake light plug, by unpluging it from the pedal to see if there's power at the plug , if there is then you will need to replace the brake switch .
