04 ford futura sedan....wont start what is wrong?

Question

the last few mornings my car will not start. i have only had it since January this year so not long..

i have had it serviced since buying it and all was ok.

i tried to start it and it made this clicking sound

click click click

very annoying as i have work to go to and a baby to take with me, i had to walk yesterday not impressed.

can anyone give me an answer as to what the problem could be and what i can do about it?

starter solenoid is bad or battery terminals need cleaning.

The battery is flat, thats all.

If you are driving around in this bad weather with the heated rear window, heater, wipers, blower fan and lights on, it can force your alternator to run to capacity and there is nothing left for your battery. Use your accessories sparingly especially the rear window which will gobble up the power.

Either charge or replace your battery and have the charging circuit checked.

Remember that you are driving a car and it doesn't have an unlimited power supply. Good luck.

First thing you should do is check the battery

volt, current drain & hydro test.

an auto electrictian will do this for free in most cases if he is going to sell a new Battery.

your car is only 4 years old so it shouldn't have any mecanical faults like the alternater.

if you are the member of a car club that do roadside service then CALL them.

A battery only has a 2 to 3 year life span & cold weather can finish them off if they are on the way out.

Over charging can kill them too so might pay to get the output current of your altinator checked.

The easyest way to check your battery yourself is go to an auto store and buy a $12 Hydrometer it is a simple test and will tell you if the battery is dead or not.

( take care as you are testing the water in battery and it is highly acidic)
