Hi, i am looking to buy a 2005 mitsubishi EVO with just 15,000 miles for $28K from a dealership.... car drove fine as far as i can tell, but i think the ACD system may be faulty. Reason is because on the instrument cluster where it displays with a green light the type of surface you have selected (Tarmac/Gravel/Snow), instead of a single green light indicating one of the three surfaces have been selected, there are 3 green lights displayed selecting all of the surfaces. I tried pushing the ACD button and the lights didnt change. Is the whole system shot? never experienced this before and the dealer doent know anything. help! thanks :)

  1. If it were a Mitsubishi dealership you're getting the Evo from, they should know. But from the sound of it, it's not. The relay is most probably faulty. The car will still drive fine in ordinary conditions but will not if road condition changes since adjustments could not be made. Have it checked out at the reputable shop. It will probably cost you about 300-500 bucks for parts and labor if it's not covered under warranty. My Montero Ltd has had multiple problems with its 4WD system basically stemming from faulty relays. I think the Montero has 6 relays total. Thank goodness that everything faulted under warranty. Total damage for 3 relays was 600 bucks. Free with warranty!
