056 Country Prefix?

Just had a missed call from 05649..... Can't find anywhere on the net that tells me what kind of number this is or which country it's from..... Does anyone know?

Country code 56 is Chile but the number would be 0056.

The country is Chile and Easter Island.

It could however have been a "cyber call" from an internet connection. It's a new service.

In the UK 056 is used by several VoIP telephones, for example BT Broadband Talk users can have an 056 number.

The number ranges in the UK are controlled by Ofcom (see link).

If this is in the UK, then numbers beginning 056 are not international, but typically VoIP internet telephones.
