  1. THERE IS AN EXISTING TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT CALLS FOR THE SERPENTINE BELT AND BELT TENSIONER TO BE REPLACED.I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM SO MANY TIMES AND IT DOES GET FIXED BY REPLACING THESE TWO COMPONENTS.IT WILL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR 3 YEARS AND/OR 36000 MILES.I RECOMMEND THAT YOU CONTACT YOUR NEAREST TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IF YOUR COROLLA WILL STILL BE COVERED.PEACE.

  2. Check your belts, make sure they are in good condition, properly adjusted, and not glazed.

Then, start checking your componants to find the noise.  Since it is tied to operating temp and rpm, it's going to be something that turns.  Water pump, power steering pump, alternator, A/C clutch, etc.  You can rule out the AC clutch, by engaging the clutch when the car makes the sound.

You can also make a stethascope, from a piced of vacume line and a solid piece of metal,,,like a 1/4 inch drive extension, if you have one long enough.  Be careful not to get caught up in the rotating parts of the engine.

Easy way to rule out the alternator, take off the alternator belt and turn the car over when it is cold.  If no sound, turn off the car, reinstall the belt, and turn it over again,,,,if you have noise now,,,,guess what.

  3. NEED MORE INFO, WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE, EXAMPLE, HIGH PITCH, CLUCKING, ETC..
