when im turning right there is a grinding noise in the front of the car. I took it to honda and the master tech said it was my aftermarket exhaust, when it only happens when i turn right not left and he said the exhaust was vibration on the body of the car. but it sound like metal to metal grinding sound(not vibration noise).i took off the tires and jack up the car and did the same turn, there was no noise. only on the road and right turns and up hill acceleration. i also shave the rotors and new break pads and still hears the noise.

  1. Try to check for body parts that possibly touches the front wheels while making a right turn. These are usually shiny surfaces brought about by constant grinding of parts.  Next, check the turning radius of the steering wheel (left & right), if well balanced. Lift the car for better diagnosis.  Try also if the velocity bearings are OK. Good luck.

  2. This is just a guess, but could it be caused by a wheel bearing that is starting to dry out. The right turn or the added stress on the bearing when traveling up hill might cause this noise to be apparent.

Have you tried rotating the two front wheels manually while it is up on a hoist, to see if it is noisy or resists movement?

If there is a clicking or clacking noise involved I would suspect the Constant Velocity Joint or CV Joint in short form.

Sure sounds like the wheel bearing from your description!

  3. If it's only doing it with the Tires on there. Maybe you have the wrong size tire or maybe something to do with the front that affects the tires. My dads car was tearing up his tires because after he put on a tie rod the front end was out of allignment. Best of luck.
