07 suzuki 250 vs 07 rebel 250 vs 07 yamaha 250??

im thinking of getting a bike as a high mpg commuter. i have found the suzuki 250 ( GZ250 ) to show the highest mpg's but i could you use some advice.

i have looked at some 750cc's but the gas mileage is like night and day. my commute is short so something that small would have enough kick to toy around on

I've looked at all of the sites I could find about all 3 bikes.

Honda Rebel---bulletproof engine construction and running ability.  Lacks some top end speed, but great MPG at 80+.

GZ 250 Suzuki---best suspension, but is even slower than the Rebel due to excessive weight---better for larger (200 lb riders) because of suspension and reach on handlebars. Only 1 color available---black.

V Star 250---best top speed and sustained speed, good quality construction, but I find the handlebars a bit like a 1970's bicycle...weird!  Only 1 color available--(reddish).

My ideal bike:  Honda Rebel Body, GC 250 suspension, and V Star Engine.  

Seriously, I'm going with the Rebel in blue...can't beat Honda's reliability and saw a YouTube video on a fellow who test drove on interstate up to 85 miles per hour passing trucks...no problem.
