Im a highschool senior who is planning on purchasing a car very soon. I have narrowed my search to two cars the elantra and corolla. Upon further research they both seem pretty even. I was wondering if you were in my position which would you get?

  1. I would choose a corolla. I think toyotas are very reliable cars and more "luxurious" if you will, than  a hyundai. Plus I think the new look for it looks more sporty.

    TRD!!

  2. I own a 2008 Hyundai Elantra and actually purchased it while a senior in high school. It has been a very reliable car and has been averaging an impressive 30 mpg plus every fill up. While personally prefer the Elantra to the Corolla I would highly reccomend test driving both and deciding which is better and fits you the best. If  you do decide on the Elanta get the SE model as it has standard Electonic Stability contol with some other cool featruees for only 900 more and will help with cheaper insurance.

  3. Corolla looks better and gets slightly better MPG's, but The Elantra has a 10 year warranty. If you buy it now, you'll be covered until 2018, which is great. So Corolla if you want style and MPG's, Elantra if you want a great warranty and MPG's. It's a hard choice.

    Also read reviews on Edmunds.com.

  4. the corolla is 10 times more reliable and better then the hyundai

  5. The Corolla is a good car but the Elantra is better. The Elantra has more interior room, a stronger engine and a much better warranty. The Corolla saves a little more gas (27/35 Corolla, 25/33 Elantra) and has an available navgation system but that's pretty much the only advantages it has over the Elantra.

Plus, you have to be careful with Toyota because they will start on the inexpensive side but they will charge alot when you get certain options.

Both are good picks but I think the Elantra is the better car for the money.

  6. man that guy who said the hyundai gets better mileage than corolla is an idiot. the corolla leads the way for fuel-efficiency

  7. if you want MPG then get the Hyundai if you want style go wit da Corolla... both are really nice and expensive... Elantra is more expensive

  8. Corolla! Corolla! Corolla!!!!

  9. i would choose the toyota corolla! I think japanese manufacturers are more reliable. and my parents have had a toyota corolla 98' and it still works great!

You cant go wrong with Toyota!

  10. Well both cars are excellent cars. Hyundai has really proven themselves as of late and the elantra and sonata both show this. The toyota has generally produced top-notch quality cars and the corolla is no exception. The corolla edges the Elantra in fuel economy by 2-3 miles but in turn comes with a weaker engine. I personally would go with the Elantra as it has a much more stylish interior which would appeal to the younger audience as yourself, unless of course you want that old school plain and simple look. BOTH are reliable cars and you really can't go wrong with either, those who are saying Toyota's are obviously 10 times better, get a clue, Hyundai, as of the last generation, has produced top notch cars such as there new genesis whichs competes with the likes of the TL etc. When its all said and done you probably should test drive both and that should pretty much give the final say.

  11. 09 corolla, toyota's general are better cars.
