  1. 'fraid your friends are gonna think you're a girly boy?

Don't worry about what they think. Just tell them it's a Ducati in disguise.

  2. I learned on a suzuki gs 750.  a ninja 250r is a good bike but some people tend to hit corners to fast and dump it.  any sport bike is hard to learn on but If you insist on a sport bike thats a good choice.   Nice bike just respect it and you will be fine.

get some rocks and lay them out like cones in an empty parking lot.  practice your turning.   vary the distance between rocks.    get chalk and make a box.  practice stopping and starting.  soon you will be very good at riding ..

then make 2 boxes with rocks in the middle and time yourself.   Youtube has good vids on ninja250.   good luck and enjoy your new fun machine.

  3. Who cares what we think, you seem very happy and im happy for you! riding is a thrill of a lifetime! the 08 is so ******* awesome compared to past models, i wanted one myself but they were on hold for a year in corpus christi texas. the bike is very nice, looks great actually. welcome to the biking world and have fun in the years to come! always wear a helmet! message me on yahoo id love to talk to you

  4. Everyone that i've talked to says that this is a good bike to start with i also got one even tho i'm waiting for mine some gave me good feedback and some not so great kept telling me it's a girl bike but ah Who care's the point here is that we learn how to ride Not what anybody else thinks i personally got it as my only means for transportation i'v gotten a feel of it and i like it probably wont be moving on to another bike for some time i say be happy with what you have don't care what anybody thinks.

  5. It doesn't matter what we think.  What matters is that you are learning and that the 250 cc is the BEST for beginner.

See this for people who don't respect the dangers of riding:

So far I've had 3 bikes (400 cc, 700cc & 500cc).  With the current gas prices, I am considering buy a 250cc bike now.  So it is NOT just for beginners and girls.

    Good Luck...

  6. I was gonna say i know someone with the bike but shes well...a chick. But really i like the bike, it sounds good and from what i hear has some really good get up and go to it. I bought my first bike 2 years ago but i went with an 05 ninja 636, i don't think i could ever go back now, but nice choice.

  7. Why?  Because it's not a big bike?  Though they're high performance, they race like h**l on 250cc's around the world.

  8. good bike really good bike looks awesome too

  9. I dont like it. But thats my opinion combined with 26 years riding which makes it difficult for  myself to think in terms of "250". BUT....since youre a beginner the bike will suit you best. In my early days you rode whatever was sitting in front of you, we didnt have the various luxuries to choose from. The best part about the 250r is, you can sell this bike for darn near what you paid for it. Its just one of those bikes that tends to be passed from one begining rider to the next, not uncommon for one to see 4 or 5 owners in the course of its life, and theres always plenty of new riders looking for what you own. s****. happy, practice practice practice and move up, youve already got your down payment for you next bike. good luck!!

  10. New 250 Ninja is so good you may have trouble getting hold of one. It looks fast standing still. They are selling incredibly well by what I've seen on various forums (including Suzuki forums)

At present there isn't anything on the market to compare with it.

I don't have one and I'm not connected with Kawasaki ( don't even like them very much, always had Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha)
