08708503492- what is this number?

does anyone know this number , im getting constant calls every day on my mobile , the calls come anytime from as early as 7.30 am up until 10 pm , when i answer it hangs up , i have tried to call it back and get a message something like this

" you were called by royal bank of scotland or one of its partner groups which include halifax (and a few others mentioned) there is no need to ring us back as we will try again shortly

every time it rings me (usually about 10 times a day it always hangs up and always same message

i dont have a bank of scotland account , i have a halifax and have rung them several times asking what this number is and why it is calling me - i am told by different halifax staff they do not know this number and it is not recognisable as one of their departments ,

has anyone else had this number call them and do same thing , do you know what it is or why they are calling?

Doesn't even look like the right amount of numbers to be a phone number.

Could be a fax number,,inform you telephone provider,,,,

It's a "power dialler". Next time it rings and you're sure it's this number calling, stab at the # key on your phone as many times as you can for about 10 seconds then hang up straight away. This has the effect of "confusing" the computer that dialled it because when you answer it and hang up normally it sends a code to the computer to tell it that you are a genuine, missed call. After the computer has been "confused" it cannot redial your number.
