Does a 1 and 13/16" ID (2" OD) cylinder for a deep well hand pump slide easily within a 2" steel well casing- or is that too close of a fit?

(does there need to be a gap) Will the two metals destroy each other? (most cylinders are brass)

  1. interesting question.... what are you trying to accomplish?...  2"OD with a 2"ID .. not going to work.  If your worried about metal corrosion.. consider

1-3/4 schedule 40 pvc and a lot less headaches....

  2. 2" Sched. 40 steel pipe will have an I.D. of 2.06".

Unless the joints were very well reamed you'll have a problem.

Brass & steel will have some galvanic corroding influence

on the steel if there's an electrical path.
