1.5 gallon tank kit light burnt out?

So this morning, my tank light burnt out. I woke up, went to turn it on because that's what my fish is used to and it wouldn't turn on. I check the plugs, the power bar. Checked the actual bulb. Yep, it's dead for sure.

So I need to get a new one if thats even possible. I heard that with the 1.5 gallon tanks you get at WalMart, you can't replace the bulbs. I checked online and there is nothing. I checked the width of my tank and googled that to see if there was any even top hood that would fit, and there's nothing. So.. I dont know. Is it true you can't replace the light? Would it just be best to just buy a new desktop tank? Probably would, eh? They're only $20-30.

  1. you should get a new tank. its hard to find those bulbs

  2. yesa nd get a bigger tank at the same time

  3. Go to Wal-Mart to the lightbulb aisle instead of the fishtank aisle and get a bulb there. Or Home Depot or Lowe's by that matter.

  4. Take out the lightbulb and take it to walmart or a hardware store that has lots of different lightbulbs. It doesn't have to be specifically for an aquarium, since I'm pretty sure you have no live plants or photosynthetic organisms.

You don't need a new tank, and your light bulb will probably cost you $2.
