Hi everyone. I'm about to take a physical for my local police acadamey and I have to run 1.5 miles in 14:08. My test is at the end of the month. I figured I would have to run at about 7mph to complete it in the allowed time. Theres alot of answers to these types of questions but I just wondering if someone had a little extra trick or advice that works for them. My calves are killing me after the first attempt.

  1. 1.5 really isnt alot im going to the academy myself. you have a month to do this. thats more then enough time. first week do a mile everyday. morning or night. second week do 1.5 so on and so on you gata remember you have to do the run AND do a obstacle course

ow n i stopped n took a couple of breathers while doing my run n still finished with time to spare.

you want to have enough energy to do everything so get use to doing 2.5

  2. eat healthy, do timed runs regularly and push yourself. and don't do any running within 4 days of your test to allow your muscles time to heal. eat plenty of carbs night b4 (e.g. pasta for dinner) and try have a high energy chocolate bar b4 running

sounds a bit far to go for a run but trust me it helps
