1.5 volt button battery vs CR-2032 3v?

To make LED throwies it says you need

CR2032 3V Lithium Batteries

Could I use 1.5 volt button batteries?

  1. Most LEDs illuminate with about 0.6V, so with the proper series resistor you can illuminate the LED with a 1.5V battery. So for a 20 ma LED, you need to drop 0.9V, or a resistor value of 45 ohms.

    Edit:  Didn't notice the link.  You could only change the battery if you also changed the LED.  I would just go with the original.
