  1. A convex lens can produce two types of image i.e.,real or virtual depending upon the position of the object.If the object is placed beyond focus of the convex lens ,a real image is formed and if the object is placed within the focus ,a virtual image is formed.

    So the answer is c.

    Height of the object =15cm

    object distance u =-30cm(-ve sign is due to sign convention)

    Image distance v=-9cm

    Magnification m=v/u=-9cm/-30cm=0.3

    Again m=height of the image/height of the object

    height of image=m x height of object=0.3 x 15cm=4.5cm.
