A couple of directions you can go with this: Geert Hofstede measured a time orientation that he developed from an instrument that discovered a dimension of values that Asians share and are for the most part barely comprehensible to strongly westernized individuals. This "Long Term" orientation relates to things like sexual behavior, family, friendships, savings and the idea of face.

      Another was sort of a grounded theoretical instrument from Fons Trompenaars where he tried to isolate a synchronic and polychronic time orientation in people. Synchronics tend to start and complete projects one at a time, polychronics multitask.  He also linked it to his "Diffuse" factor where people willingly accept close friends and tend to allow people to physically be closer when they are strangers.
