I've hear of online tutorials that assist you in learning computers, but are there computer centers that work with people with learning disabilities ( specifically, very bad A.D.D.)? Im trying to assist an adult (female, early 30s) to locate and sign up for computer classes that work at a slow pace and have a lot of patience. She gets very easily frustrated and panics (and has a tendency to give up right away) when she can't mentally grasp something. What do I search for to help find a trainer/comp center (not online tutorials) that can help someone like this?

  1. I would put out an advertisement for someone who wouldn't mind working with her. Some people may even volunteer their time and do it for free.  Also, college students work for low pay...hint, hint :-)

I'm not certain if there are any training centers specifically to help someone like her.

    Good luck to you!

  2. You can try organizations like Job Link, Goodwill, and Vocational Rehab.  They often have classes for adults, and they are used to working with people with special needs.

You might also try the library, your local senior center (even though she's not a senior, they may help anyway) and your city recreation center.  Some churches offer computer classes, too.
