  1. Oy vey people, get a sense of humour! Can you not see irony? He knows what it means, hence the "pile of cr@p" comment.

It is called humour. <rolls eyes>

    Shalom. :-)

  2. That is a euphemism for using the bathroom.

  3. NIV- 3 He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave.

I will take pile of cr@p for 300 Trebek. He was going #1.

(I just wish to add, Saul needs to be painted as the bad guy considering that David will eventually take the throne instead of him.  Writing down such private matters as peeing helps make David look better than Saul.)

  4. Not c**p, just idiomatic Hebrew.

  5. The location of this cave is unknown, although 'wild goats' stresses the inaccessibility of the cave (1 Sam 22:1, Job 39 and Ps 57, 142 refer this cave also.) 'To cover his feet, is a euphemism for having a bowel movement, as the person would crouch with his inner garments dropped to his feet.

  6. It depends on the bible translation one has. Some says "to ease nature" and others say "to cover his feet."

So, he came in to that cave to use the bathroom.

  7. "Covering his feet" is from the KJV. A euphemism for having a bowel movement, I believe. Translated less coyly in other versions.

  8. Your additional details is quite offensive.

  9. Saul and his men were hunting down David. They had, as it were, excavated a pitfall for him. But what happened? First Samuel 24:3, 4 reports that “Saul came in to ease nature” in the very cave where David and his men had concealed themselves. This made it possible for David to kill Saul, if that had been what he wanted to do. Thus, by entering the cave and coming to be at the mercy of David, Saul fell into the very pitfall that he had dug for David.

  10. Saul went in to take a leak.

  11. (1 Samuel 24:3) At length he came to the stone sheepfolds along the road, where a cave was. So Saul came in to ease nature, while David and his men were in the parts of the cave farthest back, sitting down."

I don't know what you mean by covering his feet.  He went in to ease nature.  That means to urinate or have a bowel movement.

  12. Saul just went to a cave to rest, or something like that.

  13. I think Saul went into the cave to sleep.

    Don't call something you don't understand "cr@p".

  14. David and 600 men were hiding in the wilderness there..

    feet arent mentioned in NRSV
