  1. (325 mg per tablet) x (x number of tablets) = 650 mg dose

    x number of tablets = 650/325

    x number of tablets = 2

You are smart to seek the "math" behind this seemingly simple calculation, because a lot of nurses make med errors because they "do the math in their head" and not take the time to double check on paper. In this case the answer is evident, but in the real world not always.

  2. soo heres the equation u use........ the dosage ordered..divided by the doses on hand... times the quantity on hand...650 divided by 325 is 2...

and if your tryin to figure out how many pills per day they need to take  you'd times that by 4...

  3. Well there is 2 325's in 650 and every 6hrs, thats 4 6hrs in 1 day, (24), so 2 x 4 =8

  4. sweetie, do the math.              325 + 325 = 650.

The way to think about these questions is  "what do I have?" (325 mg tabs).  "What do I need?"  (650 mg).

  5. take 650 mg and divide by 325 mg  (equals 2)

    TWO tablets PER dose

8 Tablets total for one day
