has nothing to do with the hips but how wide the pelvis will open, my ex-wife is a very petite woman and had 2 kids with hardly any effort but my sister who is larger in build had to have 3 c sections.

It doesn't actually make alot of difference, i have known women with wide hips who have a lot of trouble giving birth and women with narrow hips who give birth by just coughing. I

Size of the hips is irrelevant. Let me explain. When 6 years ago I was having my little girl, who was 8 lbs at the time of her birth, there was another lady delivering a baby in the next room. I don't have large hips, however being in a very good physical shape did help me to have an easier time considering... Lady in a next room was not that lucky...  She had one of these pear shaped bodies with a pretty large hip area, and it took her about 30 hours to deliver her barely 6 lbs baby.  I remember praying for her and her baby, because we did not think they will make it. It took me about a week to get back on my feet and start taking care of my daughter and the rest of the family. It took her two months, poor thing.

Some womens babies are to big to deliver naturally and have to have a c - section so the baby does not get hurt or destressed.
