  1. the snapping turtle should be living the life it was meant to live, not living in a container as amusement for you.  if you wanted a turtle, you should have bought one from a reputable breeder or from a reptile show.  when you find a turtle in the road, and can safely do so, the turtle should be taken across the road in the same direction it was going, that's the right thing to do.  I think you should build the snapper a huge pond in your back yard and get him out of the container.

  2. well snapping turtle snap when there mad or scared but a snapping turtle not a good pet because they snap

  3. A snapping turtle is not an idea pet.

  4. I have to agree that snapping turtles aren't the best of pets, BUT you've had it a year, might as well see what happens.

General rule of thumb is 10 gallons of water per inch of carapace length, so your tub should last him until he's about 5 inches long... start saving for one of the pre-formed plastic ponds that you can buy at your local big-name hardware store... oh... and save up for fencing material as well... we use 4x4s and 1 inch hardware cloth... remember to bury it down about a foot... snappers can indeed dig... and climb
