$1 a gallon aquarium sale at petco?

Does anyone know when this sale is and/or how long?

Those types of deals are not want they really sound...yes you get a tank for $1 per gallon but that is just a plain tank....the gimmick is they get you with all the supplies that need to go into the tank (which by the way those prices seem to get higher during the sale) and by the time you are finished supplying the tank with the needed neccesities, you could have just purchased one that is complete for less.  

Just beware....if it sounds to good to be true...it probably is.

PS...I used to work for petco so I know.

I have heard rumors that the sale will be at the end of August - beginning of September.  It is typically a week long.  It does apply to only standard tanks.. not the rounded/Euro types.    Probably not the 40 breeders either.  If you are looking for a herp home.  

And a reply to what "Minister L" said:  most of the complete sets that I have seen are not very good quality... they put junk in those sets so that they don't lose money on the sale.  Save the money on the tank with this sale and then splurge on the filter system and the rest!  You know that PetCo has that sale just to bring customers in - hoping that they will buy the rest there and return for more later.  Buy the tank there are shop around for the rest!
