  1. For an object rotating about an axis, every point on the object has the same angular velocity =w

    The linear velocity, v,of a point on the object = w r where r is the distance from the axis of rotation.

    Do you need a vector notation too? Then (vector w) = (vector r) X (vector v)

    This is the cross product of two vectors. The (vector w) points perpendicular to the two other vectors according to the right hand rule.
