I'm going to Rome on Friday June 29th.I need to know what are must see attractions. And I already know that June 29 is a Holiday so I was wondering what would be closed on that day, because that is the only day that I can stay in Rome before I leave to Pisa.

Thanx

  1. The Vatican is the number one thing to see.  The Spanish steps, the Coliseum, great restaurants.  You really need more than one day.  its a great city.  Its like asking what to see in NYC in one day.  Tough to do.  Also... the airport is very far from down town.  Your time is going to be limited.  Good luck

  2. You have to walk around piazza Navona, piazza di Spania (or Spanish steps), Fontana di Trevi, see the Pantheon, and then go to the Colosseum and the Forum. (Or vice versa, since Piazza Navona and Piazza di Spania and Fontana di Tevi are great in the evening, these are all close by). If you can go for lunch in Transtevere it is a  nice area, visit Santa Maria in Transtevere there.

  3. In June 29th all is open (restaurants, shops, museums...)

  4. My top must-sees are the Coliseum, Fountain of Trevi, Spanish Steps, and the Vatican.

But realistically, here's what you can do!  The Coliseum is next to Palatine Hill (admission tickets give you entrance to both) and the Roman Forum.  All of this is worth seeing.  Not too far away to the Fountain of Trevi, and the Spanish Steps and Pantheon are within easy walking distance of it.

The Vatican is hard because it is fairly distant from everything else.  You can easily get into St. Peter's Basicila and tour on your own time, and of course see St. Peter's Square.  Lines are long to get into the Museums (where the Sistene Chapel is).  But you'll have to decide if you want to visit, because it's not walking distance to anything else.  Personally, I would skip it and try to do as much as possible in town.

Everything should be open, no worries there.  Have a great time!

  5. Hi there 29 June is the feast day of Sts Peter and Paul. Nothing is closed (or it shouldn't be) the shops and museums should be open, they were last year anyway!
