  1. I agree..nothing

  2. You really don't need to be rude about it. It's not our fault you wasted your money on a tank that no fish can thrive in. Do you really need to at the expense of another living creature? Goldfish or not it's just not fair.

  3. nothing is suitable

  4. 1!!!!!!!!!

    platy or mollie

you can only have one at the most

  5. LOL .......well you can put anything in there but its not going to live. Go get a tiger shark if you want.

But even a beta (which is the best fish to put on small tanks/bowls) still needs a heater and a filter or he is not going to live long. If your that dead set on killing a fish get a beta I would say. Don't post retarded question's

  6. Really? You're going to no matter what? You get off on torture?

Snail would be fine, a live plant.  That's about it.

Stop thinking about your self and realize that if you decide to take in a living creature with needs, that you need to fully supply it with those needs.

I understood that when I was like, 5 years old.

  7. You can always get a pair of cherry shrimp or the like. Not fish, but fun to watch. Throw a real plant in there, put a 10 - 20W grow light on top, nice looking substrate, and a little decoration or rock ( for hiding) and it could be a good looking little ecosystem.

  8. you are going to stuff something in a 1 gallon whether we like it or not?

HOW ABOUT HOW THE FISH WILL LIKE LIVING IN AN AQUARIUM THAT IS PRACTICALLY A DEATH TRAP.

I could care less you are 14, common sense is not connected to age.

    Stop killing fish.

  9. I agree with the others, nothing really is a good fish for a one gallon.  But I guess I can't really speak because my Betta is currently in one just like you described (I use it as an isolation tank, but now that I've determined he's an angel during normal weather but harasses other fish during hot weather, he has to live in there for a while until I find a better tank.)  He does pretty good in there, plus I have a little log decoration that he likes to hide under, and a small fern which he also likes to hide behind.

Any other fish either needs bigger accommodations (we're talking solitary fish) or needs to be in a community (needs at least three or four other fish with it to be happy and healthy).  Considering how the general rule of thumb is one gallon per inch of fish you have, you can see where all this nay-saying to a one gallon tank comes from.  So if you're determined to use it, probably a betta.  But look into bigger tanks.  One gallon is good for isolation every once in a while, but I don't want my betta to live in there for too long.  Also keep in mind that Betta's are a labyrinth fish, needing access to air, otherwise they suffocate.  So if you end up using that tank, make sure the betta could get out whatever you put into it, and not get trapped underwater.  (That hasn't happened to me, but I always make sure to keep that in mind, that he has access to the water's surface because of this fact.)

At the end of the day, everyone is giving you a hard time for getting a one gallon tank, but I don't think they should sell something so small to begin with. If we see what they proclaim to be Betta tanks, they are in all reality, a death trap for Betta's.  (Bettas jump, too, so make sure it has a top to the tank.)  The tank you're talking about is at least one step better than what most people keep their fish in, so you're not this horrible person for getting this small tank.  Just really consider getting a bigger tank rather than thinking one gallon is enough.  I hope this was helpful!

  10. Not quite a fish, one snail would do nicely.
