1 month ago I signed a lease can my landlord change his mind and now give me 2 months notice?

I signed a 12 month lease agreement now my landlord wants to give me notice and says he wants to move into the property himself has he the rigts to do this or does he have to wait the 12 months I have lived at the property 2 years and have never been late with my rent and kept the property well maintained

  1. Yes he can.... no matter what the terms of the lease, if the landlord wants a certain appartment for personal or family use, then he can give you as little as 30 days notice.. atleast he gave you 2 months.


  2. Read your lease agreement. If it doesn't include his wants and you can afford one, go to a lawyer. It sounds like you have offended him.

  3. if the only reason he wants you out is that he can move in that is not cause to break your lease.you will have to agree,he has to have a good reason to break the lease,this is not a good reason

  4. Doesn't that depend on the country, state/province you live?

  5. he has to honor the contract...keep paying rent, if he refuses it, set up a simple savings account at the bank as an escrow account, and make sure he knows about it, you might have to sue

  6. a lease is a legal binding contract that can not be broken!

    He will have to wait and thats that!!
