1 of my 2008 resolutions: Boycott anything that says: Made in China. What about U?

Please understand I don't have anything against Chinese people. I know they work their little fingers to the bone.

I have a loyalty to my fellow Americans. If I buy something in 2008 it will not have a label: Made it China or any other foreign country for that matter.

If only!  I've been telling people for years that A, Chinese quality ranges from fairly decent to downright aweful, and B, what we pay for Chinese goods ain't really a bargin.  Our friends at Wal-Mart aren't dumb and they don't exist to bring you 'Everyday low prices'.   They exist to seperate you from your money.  Shocking, eh wot?  Say it ain't so, but it is.  Wal-Mart and all the other mega-retail outlets sell their chinese 'stuff' for about the same price as it would cost if made in America, by americans working in union factories.  What?  How can this be?  This can be because the profit margin for selling you that $18.00 shirt made in China costs any savy retailer about a dollar and a dime.  If made in America and considering the quality would be far better would cost Mr. Retailer, $1.25.  Granted, they would still sell the little sucker for $18.00, but doing so would cost them fifteen cents per sale...or if they jacked the price up it would cost YOU fifteen cents more.  On the plus side, our American workers, or at least our illegal aliens, would be making a pretty good living, paying taxes and all the rest of the good stuff that goes along with a domestic thriving industry.  Now, don't 'ya feel like 'ya been screwed for all these years.  I do.  Oh, well....our presidential candidates have to talk about their toy religions instead about lead plated chinese toys that could be 'MADE IN AMERICA' by union labor instead of in Lower Slobolia by slave and semi-slave labor.  Call me a 'liberal', but somehow I'm on the side of the Teamsters, not on the side of Big Money or the Chinese commies.  Who's with me?

No, I can't, and neither will you.  Why?  Because nearly EVERY thing you'll need this year is made in China, right down to that flag we fly in our yards.  

I'm all about loyalty and pride in one's country, but not at the expense of my family going without clothes, food, and education materials.

I'm sorry to say that you probably won't be buying much then. it seems that 99% of everything in the USA is made in other countries now. I think they call it out sourcing .....works great for the companies that that send all their factories to other countries and work people for pennies a day and sell it else where for big profits.I think most of it is just short of slavary myself. Just one persons opinion.

I agree with you, even though i am from Canada, but i agree that you support you're American citizenship. but almost 98% of things are made in China, India and other feorgin countries (sorry for the spelling i am only 15) so i support you. so good luck

but 2008 year resolution, stick up for myself more, and quit listening to what other people say about me. thats import for many people

I totally agree with you. Boycott all CHina made products and food. But keep other countries products, its pretty safe enough.

Then you  will buy very little, and you will find very little to eat.  Ford, Chrysler, and GM cars are assembled with foreign made parts. Almost everything assembled in this country will contain foreign made parts.  Do you like shoes?  Sorry no shoes are made in America.  The same is true for socks, hose, etc.  Few clothes are American made.  An exception is clothes worn by prisoners in Texas.  Many fruits and veggies are imported.

I admire your dedication to "American Made."  Let us know how this turns out..
