1 of my friends got a wierd phone call. it was: 000-000-0001. any ideas on who it was?

It's usually a machine.

It is more likely that it was from out of the country.

Phone caller  from foreign countries their ID

systems don't usually mixed well with USA

phone ID systems.

That is why your friend gets this 000-000-0001 number.
