1 or 2 cockatiels?

Question

i wanted to get a bird and i want a male for the talking but i also want a female for the affect.

Should i get both?

Get a young male, preferably hand fed or raised. He will be both verbal and affectionate. If you have 2, neither one will need you when they have each other. A pair if bonded and wanting to breed will a lot of the times not make very nice pets. You will then become the intruder.

get one cockatiel...try a male bird...they are more affectionate and funny to watch...but get one bird...otherwise your birds will never get out of the cage

NEVER get both! If you get both you really cant teach the other because they depend on eachother and they both treat themselves like brothers and sisters! If you do ,do this buy seprate  cages for them in seprate rooms! =]]]
