1 side of a rectangle is 2 meters longer than other. The diagonal is 10 m. What are lengths on the side?? ?

  1. sides are 6 meters and 8 meters


  2. 6x8

    Your Diagonal = 10m

    10x10 = 100

    6x6 = 36

    8x8 = 64

             +___

              100

  3. You should apply the Pythagorean Theorem to this problem..

    Let m = 1 side

    Let m+2 = the side w/ 2 m. longer

    so set up your equation like this:

    (m^2)+(m+2)^2= 100

    (which 100 - sq root =10m)

    You should be able to get your answer that way... (which is 6 and 8 m respectively. oops did it too fast) Good luck!
