  1. am = amplitude modulation and fm = frequency modulation

3 differences between the two modulations:

    1) the wavelength of the two modulations (am wavelength is long and the fm wavelength is short)

    2) because the wavelength of am is longer it is less frequent which does not give a good signal (that's why am stations are so much more staticky on the radio). fm wavelengths are shorter, which means then occur frequently. therefore, fm gives a better signal on air (that's why fm stations are easy to pick up on the radio)

    3) fm and am satellites are placed on a tower according to the order in which they appear on the radio. the higher the call number the higher the satellite is placed. even though am satellites sit higher on the tower than fm satellites, the poor signal is due to the long wavelengths.

    great question!!!!

  2. 1. amplitude modulation

    2. frequency modulation

    3.  ??????

  3. AM-  amplitude modulation

    FM-  freequency modulation

    differences-

    1- wavelength(more in AM)

    2- freequency speed(MORE IN  FM)

    3- amplitude(more in AM)
