A great captain who should hold his head up high,he did do a great job with the England team and i am sure a lot of the fella's are going to miss his great cricket knowledge...A Champ who was never really recognised...I wish him all the best!!!...

I feel like someone just died. I got onto Cricinfo and there's a sad looking Michael Vaughn... seeing him give up the captaincy is quite sad, because you know that at heart he'd still like to lead England.

For me i saw Michael Vaughn as a 'SPIRITED' (that's my one word describing him) captain, he always lifted his team and he had an amazing effect on his team.

I remember watching a match England vs. Sri lanka i think around 2006 where Vaughn was injured and couldn't play, England had no spirit at all. The next match he was fine to play and you could feel the enthusiasm of the England side just because they knew he was there. I thaught that was so amazing about him.

I don't think he can be replaced. Absolutely inspirational captain he is.
