My son was the 1st time i had ever gotten pregnant after 4 years of unproected s*x with two other partners in that time frame . my husband had a previuos girlfriend pregnant in the past and she had a miscarriage so im unsure if its me or him or what.. he says just give it time. im just really scared i was just lucky i had our son and it wont happen again.

  1. well since u have gotten pregnant the odds that u actually cant conceive r fairly low... i was on the depo for 3 years and have been haveing unprotected s*x for 3 years now and i just found out that im pregnant.. so idk if that has anything to do with it or its just not time for u to have another.but if u r actually trying to get pregnant there are ways to make ur chances higher, so talk to ur doc bout the possibilities!!

hope to have helped and good luck!!

  2. From the drug insert depo reduced your odds of getting pregnant for one year after you stopped using it. Thus you have essentially been trying to get pregnant for only two months. The chance of getting pregnant in one year of trying is 80%. Thus the per-month chance is roughly 0.8/12, or a 6% chance per month. Just be patient. Also be sure to avoid alcohol and over the counter pain medication.

You should already be taking prenatal vitamins. There is also some research that omega 3 supplementation during pregnancy and nursing can improve the child's IQ, so you should star taking fish oil pills as well. (Pediatrics. 2003 Jan;111(1):e39-44.)

  3. I took the depo for about 18 months and got off of it. It took me 2 1/2 years to get pregnant. I found out later that a lot of people who have taken the Depo have tried and tried to get pregnant and ended up conceiving about two years or later after stopping the shot.

Depo claims it takes a year but that is not true. I tell people if they are going to be on Depo it better be for long term. Otherwise I suggest an alternative or they will run into the situation like you are in.

I agree with your husband. Give it some time because it will happen.

  4. The Depo shot is evil. I have heard it can take 2 years after it to get pregnant. For me I gained 40 pounds and had my period continously for 6 months and then not at all for another 6 months and that was after only two shots.

    Never doing that again.

  5. well i was on depo also for like 2 and a half years and it messed up my whole body....i finally got off and my doc said i would have a hard time getting pregnant after the shot...she said she took it and it took over two years for her to get pregnant after quiting the shot.
