Hi all !!

Just curious, I dropped my daughter off at daycare this morning (shes a little over 1yr old now) & one of the teachers said she's been rolling her eyes (as if she's saying "OMG give me a break" or something!!!) I know that certain eye rolling can be a sign of a seizure but neither teacher seemed alarmed so (*knock on wood*) I'm not too concerned about that

I guess my question is, do other 1 yr olds roll there eyes and give people "dirty look"!!!

I thought I had at least until her teenage years for that!!

  1. yeah shes properly picked it up from the tv or someone in daycare. i wouldn't worry about it. just don't say anything she does it and it should go away. kerry x

  2. Mine doesn't.

  3. I work in a daycare with this age and at least half of them have attitudes. Whether its a dirty look, telling us "no", or just ignoring us I have seen it all. I wouldn't be concerned. That behavior could magnify in the coming years. I would think it would be easier to address/discipline before it becomes a full blown problem. for example telling her "no" or "stop that" just make sure to have a sturn face or she won't take you seriously.

  4. It might be worth bringing up at a doctors appointment at your next scheduled one.

I used to work at a daycare teaching one year olds and there was the sweetest little girl who would often glare at us. She kind of scrunched up her eyes and eyebrows... it was funny, but she was really sweet. I think at this age kids are really getting the hang of their muscle movements and enjoy moving them.

  5. Lol yeah, they can. Kids can be strange. Toddlers can have an attitude.

  6. It is not uncommon.  Kids mimic things they see.  Maybe your daughter saw someone roll their eyes, so now she is doing it.

Just be sure to tell her that it is not nice to do, and maybe it will stop.  But, it will come back in the teenage years... you can bet on that!! ;)
