  1. My son does the same thing.  I have takena toy away for a week.  I also give him one warning during meal time, then he does not eat.  It has not worked, so good luck.  I need the advice to.

  2. Pick it up one time, and after that it stays on the floor until she can pick it up herself.  She'll figure out that you're not willing to play the game.  Don't give in to her crying.

  3. Stop giving it back to her until it's the next meal time or whatever. She doesn't need the binkie, so that should just go, and food--well, she throws food, dinner's over. She gets one warning, that's it. You take the item away for an hour or two, not forever, aside from the binkie which doctors say to get rid of by 12 mos.

  4. Don't give it back to her, take it away for good. Because you're giving it back to her, you're basically playing fetch and you're the "fetcher", and she's learning that if she has a tantrum you'll give it back.

  5. This is a great phase isn't it...they make you play fetch...

  6. We established from the beginning with our daughter that when she throws food, the meal is over.  As soon as she throws something, we immediately scoop her food off the highchair.

...I'm just hoping this doesn't last until she's 10..  lol.  "I'm finished"     *toss*

  7. Why not take the item away for good, at least long enough for her to realize that it's really gone, then give it back in a few hours or the next day. She has realized that if she throws something she will get it back, you've just made it a game.

  8. Why should she stop, she gets it right back anyway. Instead tell her no as she is throwing and say it is gone. Then take it away from her, don't give her more food, drink, or whatever it is until the next meal. At one she does not need a binkie at all and definitely not during the day or you will be having such a hard time to get it off of her later on. So therefore only give the binkie at bed time anyway, allow her to cry, she won't learn if she gets what ever just went bye, bye right back.
