So found out yesterday i have to have a c-section (baby is breech and there is no chance of her flipping). I've done a lot of research on the subject in the last 24hours, and still have a few questions. Answers to some or all would be greatly appreciated.

~What do i pack in my hospital bag? Besides PJs, slippers, toiletries, socks, robe, and reading material. Do i really need anything else? I know its a 3 to 5 days stay.

~What do you do in the hosptial for 3 to 5 days, besides stare at the baby and sleep? I have REALLY bad a.d.d. and i worry that i'm going to be bored (can you tell it hasnt hit me that im havin a baby real soon?)

~How long did you wait before you wanted visitors? I know the first day is out of the question, but trying to keep my mother-in-law at bay is gonna be a challenge.

~Any helpful hints anyone want to throw in - just for giggles??

Thank you in advance!!

  1. 1. Pack an extra pillow to place on your abdomen after surgery, because it hurts to sneeze, laugh, and  cough.

2.The baby will defineatly keep you busy during your stay at the hospital.

3.I waited about a week after i got home  from the hospital. because i was still recouperating.

Just be careful when you go to stand up for the first time after surgery, take it slow, it will be painful. Good luck

  2. Just because the baby is breech does NOT mean you have to have a c-section. Women deliver breech babies vaginally all the time!  Speak with your doctor and let him/her know that you are an educated woman and know that a c-section is an unnecessary risk in this situation.

  3. 1. Clothes to come home in, maybe something you wore in your 5 th month. Change for vending machines.

    2. Baby will keep you busy, or if baby is sleeping then watch some tv or read.

3.I had visitors almost right away. It's up to you if you don't want visitors till the next day, because you'll be sore.

4.After surgery don't wait to long to get out of bed, the sooner the better healing time.

How far along are you? My baby turned at my 39 week ultrasound.

    Good Luck!
