  1. well it's kinda hard to run in jeans, and that has slowed you down alot. i ran a 10k a week after i had the flu and got  46 min. The highschooler who won got 36 min and he is able to run a 4:20 mile. so for average 40-50 minutes would be good a good competing time would be under 40 minutes

  2. when I was 17 (last summer) I ran a 10k in 35:40 so it is different for everyone. It depends on your fitness level, experience and especially how serious you take it/how important it is for you to do "well."

Since you were running in jeans that likely affected your time and also shows that you probably didn't consider it the most important thing in the world. Under the circumstances I would say that it is a slightly below average time. You were averaging 9 minutes per mile for 6.2 miles

~if you want to be an Olympian you actually have to be under 28:00

  3. A good time?  Well, there's Olympian "good times" and there's "average joe" good times.  I ran an out of shape, semi-hard 10k yesterday and it was 43 minutes.  So, if you're trying to win a road race in your town, you need to be in the 30's.  If you want to be faster than a Wal-Mart employee, you've probably got that done.  If you want to be an Olympian, you need to be under 30.

  4. it's about six miles i'd say 48mins would be great.
