10' X 30" pool- Is a vacuum required if it has a filter?

Question

It is one of those inflatable pools that includes a filter with chlorine tablets. Despite my efforts of keeping it covered when not in use and stepping in a pan of water to prevent debris from getting in, the water is somewhat cloudy and mud is settled on the bottom. I do use a net to clean it as well. Do I need a vacuum or how can I clear the water and keep it clean? Thanks in advance!

You answered your own question. If you like mud on the bottom like in a lake, you dont need to vacuum. You can just brush it if you like, but that stirs up the mud and takes longer to get into the filter. Want some advice on pool water maint ? Check this informative site -

For the cloudy water situation, you would need  to "shock" the water occasionally.  Especially w/this extreme heat which DOES burn out the chemicals.  You could just use regular chlorine & give it a good dose.  BUT, don't let anyone go it in for a few hrs. at least as it w/burn eyes.  The best time to do it would be in the evening when no one is going to use it & the sun won't burn that out too.  But, you do NOT have to pay more money for a special bag labeled "shock" as it w/cost more money, & just plain cholrine powder is the SAME thing.  Also, w/the mud settled in the bottom, maybe try stirring it up & see if the filter can handle it & take it out that way.  You could also do this when you're shocking the pool & let the filter run over nite & see if that might just work.  If not, you'll no doubt have to invest in a vacuum cleaner for it.  Try these things first tho, you have nothing to loose.  Good luck to you...:)

You should be able to get a vacuum head and hose from your Pool Supply Store. Hook it up to the filter and vacuum the bottom as needed. A pool that size should have come with some kind of vacuum attachment.
