It's Stock Exchange. It's also the world's first one.

Vivo City maybe. It's a fairly large mall and port for many cruise lines.

  3. i would go with :

Lee Kuan Yew's visionary policies & focuse infrastructural development..

since it's economy is based on trading & export, it is very well connected with the rest of the world through its port [busiest port] & aviation.

It also connects the east with the west - it has positioned itself as the stoppage point for commercial & personal air/sea travellers & goods.

it also follows a duty-free & free trade policy making it an attractive commercial hub.

tourism plays a substantial role in garnering foreign currency & developing the country.

then the entire culture of cleanliness, honesty, punctuality, efficiency, strict law & order enforcement, etc make it attractive to do business with.

here is some more background from wikipedia :

While trying to be self-sufficient, the fledging nation faced problems like mass unemployment, housing shortages, and a dearth of land and natural resources. During Lee Kuan Yew's term as prime minister from 1959 to 1990, his administration tackled the problem of widespread unemployment, raised the standard of living, and implemented a large-scale public housing programme. It was during this time that the foundation of the country's economic infrastructure was developed; the threat of racial tension was curbed; and an independent national defence system centering around compulsory male military service was created.

Since independence [9 aug, 1965], Singapore's standard of living has been on the rise. Foreign direct investment and a state-led drive to industrialization based on plans drawn up by the Dutch economist Albert Winsemius have created a modern economy focused on electronics manufacturing, petrochemicals, tourism and financial services alongside traditional entrepôt trade.

    hope this helped
