10 French soldiers are ambushed & killed in Afghanistan; apparently, the Taliban & "other militant groups"?

are responsible. WHO are these other militant groups? And, are they working with the Taliban?

they send 10 or 20 guys knowing they will  die ...and it keeps the war going....

its terrible but they did the same in vietnam..

This guy Haqqani runs one.  Gulbuddin Hekmatyar runs another.  They are leftover jihadists from the anti-Soviet fighting who are still around.  

Hekmatyar in particular has fought for and against everyone at one point or another.  He and the Taliban were engaged in a war of words when I was over there.  We used to find photocopied letters in villages of him and this Taliban guy Dadullah where they would argue.  Kind of like an Afghan Yahoo Answers election section.

They are not CIA stooges or "local resistance".
