  1. In the fantastiks the girl has a goo  monologue  it starts today i an sixteen or like this and goes no about herself it is a like character to lieall also look at Just once song from the show

  2. The problem with your song is that rent is a rock musical and the sound of music is a classic. You should try to focus on what sort of musical you're auditioning for and what the style of music is, then choose an audition piece that's similar to that one style. Good luck in sound of music!

As for the monologue, you're just going to have to do your own research, go to the library or ask a drama coach or someone in theatre!

    hope that helps!

  3. I wouldn't recomend it....

When chosing an audition piece there are several things to keep in mind if you want to be in a specific show. One of which is you want to chose something from a similar time. The Sound of Music is an old Rogers and Hammerstein musical so you should sing something from Cinderella or Oklahoma or the like.

Rent is very modern and really too edgy for an R&J audition.

And in terms of finding a monologue- you're going to just have to start reading plays. Once you find something that jumps out at you- go for it!

Try Our Town or something else by Oscar Wilde maybe.

    Break a leg :)

  4. You want to sing another Rodgers and Hammerstein song, as SOM is an R&H musical.  RENT is a completely different style, as well as being extremely overdone as an audition song.  I'd suggest one of Laurey's songs from Oklahoma or a song from Cinderella or South Pacific.  A son from RENT is only going to mean you're one of the crowd.  Break a leg!
