I want to know if this is a metaphor, figure of speech, what do you call it...?

here's the ex: " you better not steal my candies, or I will have to kill you!" (when you say "kill" in a just kidding kind of way, what does that mean? like do you call it metaphor or what?

  1. It means the speaker can kill you easily. I call it threat  


  2. Well when someone says kill in that kind of way its just a fun thing to say that is way simpler than saying I'm going to make you regret this by doing something unimaginable, also it adds to the mystery. they don't mean it... or do they? dum dum dum. anyways there is my answer.

  3. Just an exxageration; not a figure of speech

  4. A metaphor is when you take one idea and compare it to another to further your point..., as in, "he's so rich he's drowning in money",  so I would say using "I will have to kill you" in that sense would be more of a figure of speech.
